Phenomenological Study: The Psychological Experience of the Community for the First Time Undergoing the Rabies Vaccine Process Due to a Dog Bite in the Working Area of Puskesmas 1 South Denpasar

Abstract

Gigitan anjing dan proses vaksinasi rabies pasca-paparan bukan hanya peristiwa biomedis; tetapi juga pengalaman psikologis yang dialami oleh individu yang menjalaninya, khususnya mereka yang mengalaminya untuk pertama kalinya. Studi ini bertujuan untuk memahami dan mengungkap pengalaman psikologis individu yang menjalani vaksinasi rabies untuk pertama kalinya setelah digigit anjing di area kerja Puskesmas 1 Denpasar Selatan. Desain kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologis digunakan. Tujuh partisipan dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling berdasarkan kriteria inklusi. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, dan dianalisis secara tematik mengikuti tahapan analisis fenomenologis Creswell. Hasil penelitian menghasilkan lima tema utama: (1) pengalaman subjektif selama insiden gigitan anjing pertama, (2) pengalaman subjektif selama vaksinasi rabies pertama, (3) dinamika psikologis selama proses vaksinasi, (4) perasaan takut, kecemasan, dan dinamika emosional selama vaksinasi, dan (5) kebutuhan dukungan emosional, informasional, dan sosial selama proses vaksinasi. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa gigitan anjing dialami sebagai peristiwa mendadak yang mengganggu rasa aman peserta, sementara proses vaksinasi ditandai dengan kecemasan yang secara bertahap mereda melalui penjelasan yang jelas dan empatik dari petugas kesehatan. Dukungan keluarga dan petugas kesehatan terbukti penting dalam membentuk pengalaman psikologis yang lebih positif. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa menjalani vaksinasi rabies untuk pertama kalinya merupakan perjalanan psikologis yang bermakna, sehingga komunikasi terapeutik, dukungan sosial, dan literasi kesehatan perlu mendapat perhatian dalam layanan kesehatan preventif.
