PENGARUH DRY NEEDLING TERHADAP PENURUNAN NYERI PADA MYOFASCIAL TRIGGER POINT SYNDROME (MTPS) OTOT UPPER TRAPEZIUS
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh dry needling terhadap penurunan nyeri pada pasien dengan Myofascial Trigger Point Syndrome (MTPS) otot upper trapezius, kondisi yang sering menyebabkan nyeri lokal akibat adanya trigger points. Dry needling merupakan metode yang melibatkan penusukan jarum ke dalam otot untuk meredakan trigger points. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan quasi eksperimental dengan dua kelompok: kontrol dan perlakuan, masing-masing terdiri dari 10 pasien. Kelompok kontrol menerima myofascial release, sementara kelompok perlakuan menerima dry needling. Pengukuran intensitas nyeri dilakukan menggunakan Neck Disability Index. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penurunan signifikan dalam intensitas nyeri pada kedua kelompok, dengan hasil yang lebih baik pada kelompok perlakuan yang menerima dry needling. Dry needling terbukti efektif dalam mengurangi nyeri pada MTPS otot upper trapezius, memberikan alternatif potensial dalam pengelolaan nyeri konvensional. Namun, penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan dengan sampel yang lebih besar dan desain yang lebih kuat untuk mengonfirmasi temuan ini dan menjelaskan lebih lanjut mekanisme kerja dry needling dalam pengelolaan MTPS. Penemuan ini berpotensi mendukung penggunaan dry needling dalam praktik klinis untuk pengelolaan MTPS.
