Abstract

Premature skin aging is a condition that not only affects aesthetic appearance but also has negative impacts on mental health, including decreased self-confidence and increased anxiety. Therefore, this community service activity aimed to provide education on skin health and the prevention of premature facial skin aging. The program was conducted by the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sumatera Utara, in collaboration with Family Welfare Empowerment/ Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) cadres in Bulu Cina Village, Hamparan Perak District, Deli Serdang Regency. The method used included a pretest administered before the educational session and a posttest conducted afterward to evaluate improvements in community knowledge. The results demonstrated a significant increase in the level of knowledge among PKK cadres regarding skin health and the prevention of premature facial aging. Continuous educational programs are recommended to further optimize community knowledge and awareness in maintaining skin health
