Abstract

Employee competency development is a crucial strategy for improving organizational performance and work productivity in a rapidly changing work environment. This community service program (PKM) aims to enhance employee competencies comprehensively through strengthening job-related knowledge, developing technical and non-technical skills, and reinforcing professional work attitudes and ethics. The program was implemented using training and mentoring methods, including case discussions, job simulations, direct feedback, and performance evaluation and reflection. Participants consisted of operational employees and administrative staff from the partner organization. The results indicate a significant improvement in employees’ understanding of job roles and standard operating procedures, enhancement of work-related skills, and positive changes in work attitudes, such as increased discipline, responsibility, and quality orientation. The structured competency development activities proved effective in improving individual performance and overall work productivity. This PKM program demonstrates that employee competency development is not only essential for enhancing individual capabilities but also serves as a strategic organizational investment to support sustainable performance and productivity. The program is expected to serve as an applicable and sustainable model for employee competency development that can be replicated in other organizations.
