Low financial management literacy remains a fundamental problem for rural communities, as reflected in the gap between the rural (59.60%) and urban (70.89%) financial literacy indices in Indonesia's 2025 National Financial Literacy and Inclusion Survey (SNLIK). In Sekarwangi Village, Cibadak District, Sukabumi Regency, preliminary observation revealed that most households had not prepared a budget, had no emergency fund, did not separate business and personal finances, and still relied on high-interest informal loans known locally as "bank emok". This community service program aimed to improve the community's financial management knowledge, skills, and behavior as a foundation for household economic welfare. A participatory, andragogy-based approach was implemented in five stages: (1) coordination and preparation, (2) needs identification through focus group discussions, (3) training on six financial management literacy modules, (4) four weeks of mentoring on record-keeping and budgeting practice, and (5) evaluation using pre-tests, post-tests, behavioral observation, and a satisfaction questionnaire. Forty participants took part, consisting of housewives, MSME owners, workers, farmers, and youth. The mean literacy score increased from 49.55 to 79.80, with an N-gain of 0.60 (moderate) and a significant paired t-test (t = 20.31; p < 0.001). The share of participants in the good literacy category rose from 5.0% to 57.5%. Behaviorally, participants who regularly recorded expenses increased from 20.0% to 67.5%, and those with a written monthly budget increased from 15.0% to 60.0%. The program demonstrates that contextual, participatory financial education accompanied by mentoring can strengthen rural financial capability. Sustainability is recommended through village financial literacy cadres and synergy with village-owned enterprises (BUMDes), formal financial institutions, and the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD).
