Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Melalui Mekanisasi Pertanian, Diversifikasi Usaha Tani, Dan Literasi Keuangan Di Desa Palipi Kabupaten Samosir

Abstract

Rural community empowerment requires an integrated approach that combines increased agricultural productivity, the use of technology, business diversification, and financial literacy. This community service activity aims to strengthen the capacity of the community of Palipi Village, Palipi District, Samosir Regency, through agricultural mechanization, farm business diversification, and training in small business financial management. The activity was held on 13–19 August 2026 and 20–26 August 2026 through counseling, discussions, demonstrations, field practice, and mentoring. It included the application of agricultural mechanization; the planting of 1,200 pineapple plants, 30 durian trees, and 120 candlenut trees; rice field development and a water pumping system; free-range chicken rearing; and training in transaction recording, cash management, separating business and household finances, and preparing a simple profit and loss statement. The results show the emergence of more diverse farming activities and greater attention to business financial administration. Business diversification has the potential to broaden income sources and reduce business risk, while mechanization supports the efficient use of labor, time, and resources according to local conditions. The activity underlines the importance of integrating production and financial management aspects in rural economic empowerment. However, because no quantitative measurement through a pre-test and post-test was conducted, the improvement in participants' capacity cannot yet be measured statistically.
